Dental Implants 101
Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone. Because of their biocompatible nature, implants will permanently fuse with the jawbone to provide a stable foundation (artificial tooth root) for a custom tooth restoration to attach to at the gumline.
At Next Level Smiles, we have the technology and training to complete your entire implant process in-house. Instead of bouncing around to different dentists for each part of your tooth replacement journey, our skilled, knowledgeable team will be with you every step of the way from start to finish.
Implant Restorations
Crowns
For single tooth replacement, a crown can be attached to an implant using an abutment (connective piece). Crowns are a common tooth restoration to use for patients that are missing one tooth or a few teeth here and there.
Bridges
Bridges can replace one tooth or multiple missing teeth in a row. A bridge consists of crowns on each end with natural-looking replacement teeth attached in the middle. The crowns connect to dental implants on either side of the gap and the replacement teeth fill in the empty space.
Dentures
Implant-supported dentures can replace a full or partial arch of teeth. Typically, dentures need around four to eight implants to sit securely in place. If you’re struggling with loose, ill-fitting dentures, implants may be a great solution for you!
